The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce that the Backstreet Boys will be honored with a star on the world-famous Hollywood Walk of Fame on April 22, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. “Fans from around the world have been waiting for this big day since the Backstreet Boys’ selection was announced in 2012.” stated Ana Martinez, producer of the Walk of Fame ceremonies. “We expect a big crowd of enthusiastic fans right here at 7072 Hollywood Boulevard! The star will be next to the star of another popular boy band Boyz II Men.”
Emcee Leron Gubler, President & CEO of the Hollywood Chamber or Commerce and guest speaker Max Martin will help the Backstreet Boys unveil the 2,495th Star in the Category of Recording at 7072 Hollywood Boulevard near the Live Nation Building.
“Backstreet Boys fans who can’t make it to the star ceremony can watch their favorite band LIVE on www.walkoffame.com!” said Martinez.
Making history remains second nature for Backstreet Boys. The Grammy Award-nominated, multi-platinum pop-powerhouse has solidified itself as the biggest and best-selling boy band in history with sales exceeding 130 million albums worldwide. Meanwhile, they're also one of the only music artists to release seven consecutive albums in the top 10 of the Billboard Top 200. Two decades into their career, AJ McLean, Brian Littrell, Howie Dorough, Kevin Richardson and Nick Carter are as strong as ever, and they're not stopping!
They initially formed in 1993 and began turning heads with their self-titled first album in 1996. Driven by the single "Quit Playing Games (With My Heart)," Backstreet Boys instantly became pop stars. Superstar status soon followed with the release of their 1997 effort Backstreet's Back and a RIAA diamond certification for their debut—placing them in an elite club with Michael Jackson, The Beatles, and Billy Joel. Closing out the century with a bang, Millennium set the record for first-week sales in the United States at the time, moving 1.1 million units in merely seven days.
At the 1999 Billboard Music Awards, the band won the highest honors of "Artist of the Year," "Album Artist of the Year," "Album Artist Duo/Group of the Year" and "Album of the Year" for Millennium. Backstreet Boys upped the ante higher for 2000. They kicked off the year gracing the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine, while Black & Blue topped their previous record and sold more than 1.6 million copies during release week. One month later, it was certified eight-times platinum. The subsequent tour grossed revenue of more than $100 million. Backstreet Boys released in 2005 Never Gone which also went platinum, thus continuing their bona fide hot streak and once again proving their staying power. In the meantime, they enjoyed high-profile collaborations with everyone from Elton John to Sting.
Their hits include such songs as Quit Playing Games (with my heart), I Want it That Way, Everybody (Backstreet’s Back), As Long As You Love Me and many more. Kevin Richardson left the band in 2006 to pursue acting. During this time Backstreet Boys continued as a quartet and released two albums, Unbreakable and This Is Us. Both albums debuted Top 10 on the Billboard 200 charts and have since become fan favorites.
In 2010, Backstreet Boys took to the high seas for the inaugural Backstreet Boys Cruise. The S.S. Backstreet Boys has become an annual adventure that strengthens their bond with fans. One of pop's biggest moments occurred when Backstreet Boys historically merged with New Kids on the Block forming 2011's supergroup NKOTBSB and selling out arenas full of screaming fans worldwide.
This year marks 20 years of Backstreet Boys! With Kevin Richardson returning to the band, the Backstreet Boys will release new music and a new tour with the original five member lineup. The band has put together a 20th Anniversary Fan Celebration that will take place at the Fonda Theatre on April 20th – just a day before the group is honored their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The celebration is an event for fans around the world and is just one of the many ways the guys will thank their fans over the next 12 months. For more information visit, http://Backstreetboys.com .
The Backstreet Boys are involved with the numerous charities such as Angels Clinic Foundation, Brian Littrell’s Healthy Heart Club for Kids, Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, Dorough Lupus Foundation, Lupus LA, Make A Wish Foundation, True Colors Fund, UNICEF, United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Convention on Migratory Species (CMS), and VH1’s Save the Music.
There's more Backstreet Boys history to be made. We’re still living in the Backstreet Boys' Millennium. www.backstreetboys.com | twitter.com/backstreetboys;

I hope to do another this year, it was so wonderfull
Por Favor leia essa história.
Olá me chamo Barbara e tenho uma grande história pra lhe contar.
A história começa assim:

Please read this story.
Hello my name is Barbara and I have a great story to tell.
It all begins when Elaine was still a baby.
When she was 10 months old, her mother and father were working and two girls were in charge of taking care of her and her sister (who was then 2 years). The period of time that his mother and father were away from home at the same time was 2 hours and 2 hours these girls to put on the street walker and a former neighbor ran over her and causing her to be paraplegic. The neighbor fled and the case went nowhere.
Today she and a great lesson in life, has undergone several surgeries, and finally this time I want to tell you what your big dream, and as she struggles to achieve it.
The story begins:
Elaine is a fan of the Backstreet Boys since I was 11 years old when she saw for the first time in the house of a friend of his sister (at the time she did not have MTV). In 2001 at age 14 she had surgery to straighten the spine by placing titanium rods throughout the column. It was one month in hospital and there she watched the BSB on TV. She left the hospital on the eve of the BSB concert in Sao Paulo. It had taken 100 points in the column, was wearing a vest support (he had to use for a year until the rods are better fix), and the next day was to show the Backstreet Boys without the doctor permits. Great she thought, they'll finally see how the problem and always dreamed that the place reserved for wheelchairs was so bad and so low (it was at ground level) that all she could see was the butt of the other fans in front of you!
After eight years in March 2009 in hopes they returned to our country a show at the River, and Sao Paulo, she began to treat their osteomyelitis and on February 16, had surgery to cut a small piece of bone and close his sores. I stayed one month in hospital, she spent a week at home with nursing home admission and after 1 week had to go back to hospital again because he had his platelets were very low level alarmingly (it seems that she spent a week at home only to go to show).
The doctors could not give him high to the show. She mobilized the entire hospital and general comment blocks from the hospital was the BSB concert and she was known on several floors of the hospital.
Praying nurses, nurses participating in deals in his name, trying to persuade doctors nurses, all deployed in a single issue: his trip to the show. The doctor hastened his home care (nurses doing home treatment), the doctor was almost forced to go to the show with her (being that he does not like the Backstreet Boys), the lady of the cleaning in the rooms of the hospital even offered that if it were not for show, she, her husband and her children to dance Backstreet Boys in the bedroom where she was I (would have been very funny this show but luckily she can go in the show's true Backstreet Boys).
Summing up the show in 2009: She was discharged on the 17h day of the show and got there when it was packed. Besides, she had to go lie and watch the show because she could not lay up for nothing due to surgery. She says it was a monkey that was worth it! She drew the attention of many people lying on the street and walk into the show. She was lying in a wheelchair who lies fully made bed. And the place for the wheelchair this time was higher than the ground (perhaps because of the letters that his brother had wanted to city hall at their request, since she was in hospital and there was no computer (his brother is a brother to it).
Almost one year later, she returned to the same hospital for some tests and the staff still remembered her and her story.
Among the craziness, lying to get out, go back to school and head sewn to the show, had other less relevant as the work of dispensing as a photo model wheelchair, as the person who got him those jobs promised he would take her backstage Backstreet Boys at the last minute and did not lead, it does not appear on the site (he gave the excuse that the daughter of a 17 year became ill and was in hospital but she did not know what I was her daughter and no one believed her. To Elaine, it does not had the necessary contacts).
Now Elaine and member of the official fan club of the Backstreet Boys like me and know that it is confirmed that they saw 18 to Brazil in a February 26, 2011 and that 26's show in Sao Paulo, his city, and is Of course, if she had to go back to school early and has already been sewn and lying to their show, it is obvious that this year she will not do any surgery she will for sure!
This year Elaine knew of the VIP fan club (an event soundcheck before the show, so fans of the official fan club can meet them and take pictures with them), she wanted to go with VIP Platinum, which costs U.S. Platinum VIP $ 520.O and a special invitation, the fan takes pictures individually with the group, get an autograph and do the backstage tour with them. Elaine was all excited to put off buying another wheelchair to watch the soundcheck after all could realize his dream as wish to know their childhood idols, but unfortunately she learned this week that St. Paul is the only city that unfortunately, will not have this special ticket to meet the Backstreet Boys.
Already very difficult and it's going to a show in your state, let alone in another state.
She's devastated because I had already bought the tickets 2 common to the show in São Paulo, one for her and one for his mother (to buy the VIP to meet them must have a ticket too common) it does not have conditions to go to another state. Furthermore, it has to be very lucky to be able to buy these tickets because they are special and only a few sell out in minutes.
I know of her great desire to know them as well as she, too, am a fan of the Backstreet Boys, 13 years waiting for this moment, the only difference is that I am not bound to a wheelchair and I can run behind them by the state trying to have at least one photo. She thought this year would, but just this year she has surgery, they are not going to soundcheck in Sao Paulo.
She thinks she is unlucky as a baby because I never won a lottery.
She only won promotion in its history. There were two deals to write its history as a fan of the Backstreet Boys and the story more exciting win. She won the second (the first two): The first prize was a wallpaper, a DVD and the story published in website promotion, the second prize was publication of the story on the site. The owner of the site first, which was also a fan of Boys, said that my story was so exciting that I should show to the Backstreet Boys (she even offered to help with English) but of course I did not show my story to them because I I have no email or phone them (but I know English, went to college and graduate school in English, just do not have their address).
She wrote to the fan club for not letting them lose the sale but obviously that did not happen. It's like when she was 14, I called a radio station known for super-young, said he was hospitalized and that his heart was pounding and the announcer said, "What good is a sign that you have the heart" (do not even need to say he did not believe his story over the phone, right?).
I'm a fan of the Backstreet Boys for many years, know how and be willing to meet his idol.
Many say, because it will do it for her? You're also a fan, has the same dream.
I replied: I can chase my dream, she has said that my heart will be hers at the time of this meeting.
This year, in response to a message posted by a fan in the official fan club, she told her story briefly as a fan but then she had a big surprise: his letter rebound and turned many fans said that their story has to go to the media. They were thrilled with his letter and Elaine was thrilled with their attitude and his letter on my site has became famous.
I hope you can do something for this girl.
I know there are people with dreams to see other people who matter most.
But love is inexplicable, Elaine deserves to realize this dream.
If I could carry her in my arms and run behind them with me, but I can not.
Hugs and eagerly await an answer,
