As part of Major League Baseball’s All-Star game, last night not only saw the annual Home Run Derby but also the Celebrity Softball Game. The contest pit two teams of famous folk (including Olympian Shawn Johnson, Mad Men’s Jon Hamm and Billy Bob Thornton) each other, with guidance from a group of baseball legends. But the two great performances came from the music world, with the Backstreet Boys’ Brian Littrell hustling after fly balls and St. Louis rapper Nelly delivering huge with a two-run home run that he drove 375 feet (not as impressive as Prince Fielder’s 500 foot drive, but one is a professional and the other isn’t).

'I think This Is Us is definitely the Backstreet Boys being comfortable with who we are,' Littrell says.
The Backstreet Boys are back. And on their latest album, This Is Us, the guys are declaring their return to the sound that made them famous back in the late '90s.
Gone are the adult-contemporary touches they've favored in recent years. It's back to the pulsating beats and dance-music vibe. And Brian Littrell thinks now is the perfect time for the guys to show the world they still have what it takes.

It’s been over a decade that The Backstreet Boys have been rocking and redefining the modern music landscape and on June 14 and 15 fans will get to hear those irresistible melodies and acapella harmonies once again at Sun City’s POSI+IVE festival brought to you by Jacaranda 94.2.
In all, the group has sold more than 75 million albums worldwide. Their first two U.S. releases both received the Diamond Award for sales of more than 10 million: “Backstreet Boys” in 1997 and quintessential “Millennium” in 1999, which reached No. 1 in 25 countries. They have scored a dozen top 40 hits, including top 5 smashes “Quit Playing Games (with My Heart),” “As Long As You Love Me,” Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)” and “All I Have To Give.”
A lot has changed since 1997, when we first got to know the five singers comprising: Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell, AJ McLean and Kevin Richardson. Today, like their fans, they have grown up and started families, recorded solo projects, and appeared on the Broadway stage, all while dealing with the trials and tribulations that accompany fame at an early age.
After taking a break from 2002 to 2005, the band had great success with their Never Gone album and world tour, which included sold out shows all across Australia.
In 2006, after six multi-platinum records, Kevin Richardson decided to take a break from the group to pursue other interests, leaving Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell and AJ McLean to record the new “Unbreakable” album.
“Unbreakable,” is gloriously synonymous of the Backstreet Boys’ indelible melodies, hooks galore and finely crafted three- and four-part harmonics, demonstrating that these guys have matured into talented musicians who still love what it is they do so well.
“We love the fact that we can still lift people’s spirits and make them smile with songs they can sing along to. I think we’ve found a magical sound”, says Brian Littrell. “We’ve grown up together with our fans for this long and hopefully we can stay together for another 15 years”.
Backstreet Boys spent a year and a half recording “Unbreakable,” which marks a confident return to the pop template that best defines the group’s sound. First single “Inconsolable,” is a classic piano-driven mid-tempo ballad reminiscent of the group’s biggest hits. Upon its release in September 2007, it was an instant radio hit.
“We couldn’t wait to get back onstage with a big extravagant show using this material as the base,” says Nick Carter. “Half of what we do is vocals and harmonies on our albums, but our other role is as entertainers, which we take great pride in.”
Tickets for the Backstreet Boys concerts are available at Computicket. Ticket prices range from R475 to 495. For more information: 083 915 8000 or visit: www.computicket.co.za.

I really don't understand why Fallen Angel didn't make it. It seems to be one of the songs that every single fan likes. I think aside from that, the tracklisting is good, just wish there were more than 11 songs like everyone else. I can't wait to buy in on October 6th!
beautiful beatiful songs!!!! I can't wait for this cd
I'm fine with it as long as PDA is there lol.I really hope Guys/Jive {whoever} will pick PDA as a second single, cause I already said like 25984127 times that it would be really sad to not to take every advantage that song has :P .
If that song would not attract attention of people outside of BsB fan base I really dunno which one could.I'm not saying that other songs are bad,but I think PDA has hughest potential to suprise audience outside of BsB world lol.
I would like to see on Track List songs like Trouble and Helpless..But hey WTH I have them already lol
there should be more than just 11 songs....im greedy...want more BSB...lol
trouble and helpless should so be on this album....they make great singles
